Noctua Therapy requires at least 24 hours notice for the cancellation or rescheduling of appointments. If you do not provide 24 hours' notice, you will be charged the full session fee. This policy ensures that I can offer the available time to other clients in need. Thank you for your understanding.

What approach do you take at Noctua Therapy?
Description goes hereThere are many ways to work through the past and make meaningful change. Some people prefer a structured approach with exercises and homework, while others want a more conversational space to reflect and notice patterns. At Noctua Therapy, we lean toward the second style—curious, compassionate, and responsive to your needs in the moment, whether they be more grounding practices in our session, processing trauma, or exploring the changes you want to see in your life.
-
What therapies inform your work?
Our approach draws from Somatic Awareness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We integrate these tools as needed to help you reconnect with intuition, process difficult experiences, strengthen your nervous system, and make lasting shifts in how you relate to yourself and others.
-
What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) Therapy is a way of processing past trauma and difficult experiences. It has been shown to significantly reduce the distress and bad feelings from a past memory, and can also reduce the tension and vulnerability to being triggered that many folks experience in day-to-day life.
-
How does EMDR work?
EMDR can be helpful if you feel you understand what has happened in the past intellectually, but when you are in similar triggering situations your body just reacts and seems to ignore what you know. EMDR is a way to process what is being held in the body. We use physical movement such tapping on your legs with your left and right hands, called Bi-Lateral Stimulation (BLS) to bridge the knowledge held in the right side (feeling/sensation tracking part of the mind) and the left side (cognitive and intellectual part of the mind) of the brain.
