Bound by Belief: Uncovering the Impacts of Rigid Religious or Family Systems

$0.00

Sometimes the most powerful rules are the ones that were never spoken aloud.

In rigid religious or family systems, beliefs about obedience, identity, loyalty, and morality can become woven so deeply into daily life that they are difficult to see clearly from the inside. Some people eventually step away from these environments, while others remain connected to their families or communities while quietly questioning parts of what they were taught. In either case, many people find themselves carrying questions about trust, boundaries, responsibility, and their own inner voice.

This workshop offers an opportunity to begin noticing these patterns and putting language to experiences that may have remained difficult to name.

Join facilitators Claire and Brett for a time of learning, group discussion, and self-reflection. Together we will explore some of the common features of rigid belief systems and how they can shape identity, relationships, and self-trust over time. Our time will include guided discussion, journaling, reflective drawing (no artistic skills required), and a few gentle somatic grounding exercises.

Claire is a Registered Social Worker and psychotherapist whose work focuses on trauma, identity, and the long-term impacts of family and belief systems.

Participants are welcome to share as much or as little as feels right for them. The morning is intended as a thoughtful and exploratory time for reflection, conversation, and making sense of experiences that are often complex and difficult to articulate.
